The Owen Farm

A photo I inherited from Mamaw Owen: “This might be the Owen farm.” Dad says, “Sure looks like it could be. They had two barns. The one on the left would have been the livestock barn and the one on the right would have been the tobacco barn. That’s the way they were situated when I remembered them. The problem is that I don’t remember the woods farther out and, as I remember it, there was a garden behind the house where you can see the nearby field. I suppose this could have been made earlier before the woods were cut down.” Dad also says, “The Owen farm is about 3 miles from Cave City Kentucky. My grandfather Owen donated some land in one corner of the farm for a one room school to be built. Made it convenient for his children to attend there.”
